Abraham Lincoln Council
Events and Programs

The goal of events and programs is to provide units with options and programs that any single group is unlikely to be able to provide for their selves.  These activities generally have a common purpose- to sharpen and test Scout Skills or to help introduce new skills to the Scouts involved.  Some are recognition events and others bring the World Brotherhood of Scouting closer to home.

Illinois National Guard Drill Floor

1301 North MacArthur, Springfield, Illinois

Dear Scoutmaster,

Are your Scouts prepared to respond to a first aid crisis? Come to the Council First Aid Meet and find out. We can accommodate up to 64 patrols consisting of four to eight Scouts. First, second, and third place winning patrols will receive ribbons for their patrol flags. All paid participants will receive an embroidered patch.

Each patrol should be prepared to deal with problems selected from the Scout Book, First Aid, Emergency Preparedness and the Lifesaving Merit Badge Pamphlets. Please notice: Judging on all problems will be based on treatment procedures found in the MOST RECENT printing of each of these resource materials. Additional information will be provided to the Scoutmaster upon confirmation of the reservation. The victims will be realistically made up to depict the various injured and emergency conditions to be diagnosed and treated. Judges will score each patrol on each problem.
