Learn More About Philmont

The Abraham Lincoln Council is pleased to coordinate two crews for 2020, with a maximum of 12 people per crew, including 3-4 adults who are 21 years of age or older.

What is Philmont?

Philmont Scout Ranch is one of four national high adventure bases owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America.

Located in northern New Mexico, near the town of Cimarron, Philmont is a working ranch of more than 137,000 acres.  It consists of mountains, plateaus and valleys very different than what we are used to here on Mr. Lincoln’s Prairie.

More than 20,000 Scouts and Leaders hit the trails each year.  During the summer season, crews hike from camp to camp each day. At each camp, crews participate in a different activity.

Crews carry their gear and restock food every four days. Program areas are staffed by trained Philmont staff members.
